Kohl’s has two discounts that work the same way: 15% off on Wednesdays for customers 60 and older, and 15% off on Mondays for military (“Military Mondays”). Both are in store only, and neither combines with percent-off coupons. Dollar-off coupons and Kohl’s Cash still work, and the order in which they apply changes what you pay.
- Senior discount
- 15% off qualifying purchases, Wednesdays, age 60+, in store, show ID
- Military discount
- 15% off qualifying purchases, Mondays, in store, for active military, veterans, retirees and their immediate family
- Online
- Neither works on kohls.com
- Combines with
- Dollar-off coupons and Kohl’s Cash (applied first). Not with percent-off coupons or the other age or military discount.
- Excluded
- Gift cards, Sephora at Kohl’s, Kohl’s Cares items, price adjustments, Kohl’s credit card payments, taxes and shipping, plus other coupon-ineligible merchandise
Checked on October 7, 2026 against Kohl’s FAQ and the Kohl’s corporate newsroom (latest Military Mondays confirmation: November 10, 2025). kohls.com blocks automated reading, so for the senior discount we relied on Kohl’s FAQ text as indexed by search engines; we will update this page when we can re-read it directly.
The order of discounts matters
Kohl’s applies dollar-off coupons, including Kohl’s Cash, before percent-off discounts. Example on a Wednesday:
- Cart: $80. Kohl’s Cash: $10. Price becomes $70.
- Senior 15% applies to $70: you save $10.50.
- You pay $59.50 instead of $80.
What does not work: a 20% or 30% Kohl’s coupon on top of the senior or military discount. If you have a percent-off coupon bigger than 15%, use it instead, and the day of the week no longer matters.
15% off eligible items.
Military Mondays: who qualifies and what to bring
Kohl’s newsroom describes the program as 15% every Monday for “active military, veterans, retirees and their immediate family members.” Bring a military ID card, a state-issued ID showing veteran status, or Form DD 214. Around Veterans Day Kohl’s has historically raised it to 30% for a few days.
What other sites get wrong
- “The senior discount applies to your entire purchase.” Kohl’s says qualifying purchases; Sephora at Kohl’s, gift cards and other coupon-ineligible items are out.
- “It cannot be combined with any coupon.” Only percent-off coupons are blocked. Dollar-off coupons and Kohl’s Cash are applied first.
- “You can’t pay with a Kohl’s card.” Kohl’s excludes payments on a Kohl’s credit card account, not paying with the card.
- “AARP members get 15% online.” We found no Kohl’s source for this.
