Michaels Teacher, Military and Senior Discount (2026): 15%, 15%, 10%

Michaels runs three everyday group discounts: 15% for teachers, 15% for military and 10% for seniors 55+, all on the entire purchase including sale items. That last part is unusual; most retailers exclude sale items. One group discount per day, and the three cannot be combined with each other.

Military
15% off: active duty, Reserve/Guard, veterans, registered dependents
Seniors
10% off, anyone 55 or older
Limits
One group discount per day; one per product; group discounts cannot be combined

Checked on October 7, 2026 against Michaels’ teacher, military and senior discount pages and coupon policy (read through archived copies from September and October 2026, because michaels.com blocks automated reading) and Michaels press releases.

Discount or coupon?

Michaels’ coupon policy limits one coupon per product. On a single regular-price item, a 40% coupon beats 15%. On a mixed cart with sale items, the group discount usually wins, because it covers the whole purchase. Michaels’ own August 2026 press release says educators can stack the 15% with its Fine Art Month promotions.

15% off eligible items.

What other sites get wrong

  • “Use it with coupons and other discounts.” Group discounts cannot be combined with each other, and coupons are limited to one per product.
  • “Just show your military ID at checkout.” Michaels verifies through SheerID and links the status to Michaels Rewards.
  • “The teacher discount is 20% every July.” A 20% boost was officially confirmed for Michaels Canada in 2026, not as a standing US rate.
