Apple gives 10% off to current and veteran members of the US military, National Guard and Reserve, and to immediate family in the same household, through a separate online store. It does not work in Apple Stores or the regular Apple Online Store. On a MacBook Air, 10% beats Apple’s education pricing.

Military 10% vs education pricing
| Product | Regular | Military 10% | Education |
|---|---|---|---|
| MacBook Air 13″ (M5) | $1,299 | $1,169.10 (save $129.90) | $1,199 (save $100) |
| MacBook Air 15″ | $1,499 | $1,349.10 (save $149.90) | $1,399 (save $100) |
| iPad Air 11″ 128GB | $749 | $674.10 (save $74.90) | $699 (save $50) |
If you qualify for both (for example a veteran who teaches), the military store is cheaper on these models. Education buyers may get a Back to School gift card in summer, which can change the math: in 2026 it was $100 with a MacBook Air.
Teachers
K-12 employees (including homeschool teachers), college faculty and staff get Apple’s education pricing. It is not a percentage: $100 off a MacBook Air, $50 off an iPad Air. Yearly limits apply, for example one MacBook and two iPads per year.
What other sites get wrong
- “Up to three of each device per year” for the military store. Apple’s military store page lists no quantity cap; the three-per-year limits belong to Apple’s government programs.
- “Pick up a military-store order in an Apple Store.” Apple says the discount does not apply to purchases at Apple Store locations.
- “Teachers get 10%.” Apple education pricing is a fixed lower price, about 7% on a MacBook Air.
