Lowe’s gives service members, veterans and their verified spouses 10% off most full-priced items, online and in store, and says plainly: “There is no annual maximum discount.” That makes it the stronger military discount for large home projects, as long as you buy full-price items.

How to enroll
- Go to Lowes.com/military/validation.
- Sign in to or create a personal MyLowe’s Rewards account.
- Verify with ID.me.
- Check your profile: the Military Discount section should say “Status Verified.”
- Online, sign in and the 10% applies at checkout. In store, give the cashier your phone number and show a photo ID (driver’s license, state or federal ID, DoD ID or passport).
Spouses need their own MyLowe’s Rewards account and their own ID.me verification.
What is excluded
- Any sale item
- Major appliances, including related parts and accessories
- Commodities such as electrical cable and wire, dimensional lumber, plywood and OSB
- Installation, rentals, labor, delivery, shipping and protection plans
- Gift cards, fees and previous purchases
10% or the Lowe’s card’s 5%?
They do not combine. The military 10% beats the card’s 5% on full-price items; on sale items, the military discount does not apply at all, so the card’s 5% is the only option there.

On $10,000 of eligible full-price purchases in a year, Lowe’s discount is $1,000 and Home Depot’s stops at $400. Details: Home Depot military discount.
Other Lowe’s programs
Nurses and first responders do not get a percentage discount at Lowe’s. ID.me lists free Silver status in MyLowe’s Rewards for them instead. Lowe’s last ran first responder coupons in October 2023. There is no senior, teacher or student discount.
What other sites get wrong
- “Dependent children up to 18 qualify.” Lowe’s extends the discount to the verified spouse only.
- “Family members can use it.” That was the 2010 version of the program. Today it is the service member and spouse.
- “Veterans with Bad Conduct or OTH discharges are excluded.” Lowe’s names only dishonorably discharged veterans.
